Europe is India's fastest-growing long-haul destination. The combination of Schengen visa access (however hard-won), direct flights from Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore, and the weak Euro against the Rupee has made multi-country Europe trips increasingly popular for Indian travelers.
The connectivity challenge with Europe is unique: you're often crossing borders every 2–3 days. Paris → Amsterdam → Berlin → Prague in a week means four countries, four networks, and traditionally four SIM cards.
The solution: a single Europe regional eSIM.
One eSIM for all of Europe
Trovio's Europe regional eSIM covers 30+ European countries including:
- 🇫🇷 France
- 🇩🇪 Germany
- 🇮🇹 Italy
- 🇪🇸 Spain
- 🇳🇱 Netherlands
- 🇧🇪 Belgium
- 🇦🇹 Austria
- 🇨🇭 Switzerland
- 🇨🇿 Czech Republic
- 🇵🇹 Portugal
- 🇬🇷 Greece
- 🇸🇪 Sweden
- 🇳🇴 Norway
- 🇩🇰 Denmark
- 🇵🇱 Poland
One purchase, one QR code, seamless connectivity as you cross borders — no network switching required.
UK: separate from Schengen
The United Kingdom is NOT part of the Schengen Area. Post-Brexit, UK networks are completely separate. Most Europe eSIMs don't include the UK.
Trovio offers:
- Europe regional eSIM (excludes UK)
- UK eSIM (separate)
- Europe + UK bundle (best value if your trip includes both)
If your itinerary is Paris → London → Rome, you'll need to add a UK eSIM or get the bundle. This is true of all eSIM providers — not a Trovio-specific limitation.

Data needs in Europe
Europe varies wildly in how data-hungry you'll be:
High usage cities: Paris, London, Amsterdam, Barcelona — constant Google Maps, Uber/Bolt, restaurant bookings
Lower usage: Tuscany countryside, Swiss Alps hiking, Amalfi Coast drives — check Google Maps offline, less real-time data needed
Typical usage: 800MB–1.5GB/day in cities. A 10-day 10GB plan from Trovio is plenty for most itineraries.
Hotspot note: If you're traveling with family and sharing with parents' phones or a laptop, factor in 2–3x data usage. The 15-day 15GB plan handles a couple sharing data comfortably.
Managing Indian finances in Europe
European travel requires a lot of India-connected transactions:
- Forex card top-ups often require OTPs
- Credit card transactions above ₹5,000 trigger 2FA
- Travel insurance claims need documentation sent back home
Keep your Indian SIM in the physical slot with WiFi Calling enabled. Your Jio/Airtel number stays active — OTPs arrive as SMS, calls come in over eSIM data (free via WiFi Calling).
When to buy your Europe eSIM
Buy 1–3 days before departure. Install at home on WiFi. The plan starts from first network use — not from purchase or installation. So you can safely install it on Wednesday and activate it when you land in Paris on Friday.
Schengen vs non-Schengen coverage
Important for Indian travelers: Some Eastern European countries you might visit are not in the Schengen Zone but ARE covered by Trovio's Europe eSIM (e.g., Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania). Check your itinerary and confirm coverage before purchasing.
